SHARP Literacy, Inc. recently held its 17th annual A Novel Event at The Pavilion at Discovery World. The event, which featured Milwaukee Bucks starting point guard Malcolm Brogdon as its keynote speaker, raised $250,000 for the nonprofit organization.

Joel Quadracci, chairman, president and CEO of Quad Grapics, and his wife Caran, were honored with the Literacy Champion Award for their ongoing support of SHARP Literacy’s educational program.  Josh Gimbel, and the Gene and Ruth Posner Foundation, received SHARP Literacy’s EDGE Award.

Brad Bertler, global coordinating services partner of Ernst & Young LLC, and Marie O’Brien, president and CEO of Enterforce, Inc., were event co-chairs.

Funds raised will support the delivery of SHARP’s literacy program to more than 8,000 K4 through fifth grade school students and educators in 39 of Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties’ most at-risk schools.
