Mayor Barrett’s Walk 100 Kick Off

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett kick-offed his fifth annual Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge on June 4th in the City Hall rotunda. The kick-off event began with a group stretch followed by remarks by Mayor Barrett. City employees, community partners and friends then joined the Mayor as they walked a mile route down Wisconsin Avenue touring Sculpture Milwaukee. After returning from the walk, participants enjoyed Purple Door ice cream and a display provided by ZIPMKE. Participants received Summerfest tickets. The Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge promotes physical activity and neighborhood exploration amongst residents. Throughout the summer, Walk 100 partners with community organizations, elected officials, and residents to host walks in all corners of the city.
