African American Chamber of Commerce: State of Black Business

The African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin hosted the first State of Black Business symposium Friday morning, in partnership with the Milwaukee Urban League and LISC Milwaukee.

About 80 local entrepreneurs and funders convened at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for the U.S. Bank-sponsored event.

Keenan Grenell, chief executive officer of Wauwatosa-based Global Capital Group, LLC, delivered the keynote address, which was followed by a panel discussion. Panelists included José A. Mantilla of Legacy Redevelopment Corporation; Carla Cross of Cross Management Services, Inc.; Elmer Moore of Scale Up Milwaukee; Genyne Edwards of P3 Development Group; Greg Wesley of the Medical College of Wisconsin; Eva Brown of U.S. Bank; and Kalan Haywood, Sr. of Haywood Group.
