Metro Milwaukee Society for Human Resource Management (MM SHRM) chapter will hold its Summer Outing and Open House on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Brown Bottle restaurant, 221 W. Galena Street, Milwaukee. The theme of this year’s event is “Summer in the City.” Members of MM SHRM, the national association of SHRM, and those in the human resources profession are welcome to attend.
The event is combined of two parts:
- 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: MM SHRM Open House
This portion of the event features MM SHRM’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs), which are focus groups whose members come together to share information about specific areas of the human resource profession. Sample SIGs include Workforce Diversity, Readiness and Inclusion, Employment Practices, and Talent Acquisition. At the event, each SIG will have a table staffed by co-chairs who will be available to explain the benefits of and topics for the 2017-18 meetings. New members and those wishing to register for SIG meetings, sign up for certification study groups or join a committee are encouraged to attend.
- 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.: MM SHRM Summer Outing
The remainder of the event provides an opportunity for attendees to network and learn more about MM SHRM. Food and beverage will be provided.
Cost to attend is $10 for members; $20 for non-members and guests. Members bringing a prospective member will be entered into a drawing for a free annual membership.
