Cybersecurity for Small Businesses: Simple Steps to Improve & Protect your Business
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Join us for our first BBB Breakfast event, “Cybersecurity for Small Businesses: Simple Steps to Improve & Protect your Business,” on Thursday, October 18 from 7:30 – 9 a.m.
Joe Fransee, IS Network Specialist with UW-Milwaukee, will give a presentation on the simple steps small businesses can take to improve their cybersecurity efforts, including password rotation, onboarding and off-boarding policy, email security, payment card security, and more. Time will be allocated for Q&A, where you can ask questions related to your small business cybersecurity needs.
Coffee and light breakfast will be served.
Registration/Networking from 7:30 – 8 a.m.
Presentation starting at 8 a.m.
Q&A beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Event ends at 9:00 a.m. (flexible end time to allow further questions)

About Joe Fransee:
Joe is a SANS trained Senior Network Engineer with the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee focusing on Network and Infrastructure Security. He previously served as the Network & Security Administrator for American Orthodontics in Sheboygan and has worked with a number of companies in both the financial and healthcare sectors throughout the Milwaukee area including Merge Healthcare (IBM Watson), FIS, and Northwestern Mutual. Joe began his IT career as a Landscape designer and IT Project Manager for his family’s Nursery and Landscaping business in Saukville WI, Gene Fransee & Son Nursery & Landscaping, and has worked with other small business owners to help establish best practices for IT security and Payment Card Industry compliance.
