Kids from Wisconsin launches season in South Milwaukee

Kids from Wisconsin will launch its 41st season as Wisconsin’s Musical Ambassadors of Goodwill with its premiere performance on Sunday, June 28 at 3 p.m. at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center.

The performance features 20 singers and dancers and a 13-piece show band, that were chosen from among Wisconsin’s finest young musicians. The organization has been in existence since 1969.

KIDS alumni and friends contributed more than $100,000 in donations last year, which saved the organization from having to shut down. The group is still looking for a corporate sponsor, after the loss of a major sponsor last year.

The 2009 Kids revue is entitled "Don’t Stop Us Now!" and will feature hits from Abba, Louis Armstrong, Paul Simon, American Idol, "My Fair Lady," Van Morrison and more.  The current troupe of 33 members features 15 performers from several southeastern Wisconsin.
