Mark Ostap

After concluding a national search, Pius XI Catholic High School, Milwaukee, has appointed Mark Ostap as the school’s new principal. In his new role, Ostap is charged with leading the day-to-day operations of the school.

“Mark’s passion for Catholic education and his skills as an experienced educational leader make him the ideal fit for our school,” said Dr. Melinda Skrade, president of Pius XI Catholic High School. “He shares our values and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and leadership to the position – he’s uniquely qualified to lead our school community.”

Before accepting his position at Pius XI Catholic High School, Ostap was the director of advancement at GCE Lab School in Chicago where he was responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders and developing capital campaigns. Prior to GCE Lab School, he served as principal of Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Ill. During his tenure at Carmel, Ostap oversaw a wide variety of initiatives, including the implementation of the 1:1 Chromebook Program, the creation of a business incubator program and the development of a long-range strategic plan. He was also instrumental in growing the school’s Student Services Department as well as its Fine and Visual Arts Program.

Ostap holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in history from Western Illinois University and a Master of Education from Lewis University. Ostap and his wife Molly live in Illinois with their four children. They are currently in the process of relocating to the Milwaukee community.
