Jeffrey Jarmes

PAX – Program of Academic Exchange, a non-profit international student exchange program, announced that Jeffrey Jarmes of Milwaukee has been hired to implement and oversee the organization’s operations in the Southeast Wisconsin region. Jarmes will work with local host families and high schools to bring high school students to the area to study for an academic year.

Jarmes, a native of South Milwaukee, recently returned to Milwaukee and has worked for 20 years as College President and Executive Director at several private colleges in the Chicago area. He has been a passionate advocate for students volunteering with the DePaul Higher Education Workgroup, Chicago Public Schools, and the College of DuPage Vision For Tomorrow. Entering into the world of youth exchange, Jarmes is excited to invite local families to share their America with a high school exchange student from one of 70 European, South American, Asian, or African countries during the upcoming school year.

Founded in 1990, PAX – Program of Academic Exchange is a not-for-profit educational organization and one of a select few U.S. Department of State-designated Exchange Visitor Programs chosen to participate in the prestigious U.S. government sponsored Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) and Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) programs. Each year, more than 1,100 teenagers visit the U.S. as PAX exchange students. For information on how you can host an exchange student from another country, please visit http://www.pax.org/families, or contact Jarmes at mkepax@yahoo.com or 312-371-5050.
