Top 10 tips for starting and/or having a successful wellness program: To maintain a successful wellness program, a company needs to: gain the support of top management, establish a planning committee composed of dedicated members, engage and involve employees through interest surveys, set clear goals and objectives that align with the company’s overall mission and goals, gather sufficient financial resources (you’ll likely need to partner with third-party vendors, and that costs money), offer sufficient incentives to motivate employee participation (financial rewards are most effective), develop or outsource resources (from newsletters and websites to HRAs, biometric screenings and telephonic coaching programs), promote the program effectively (remember, a good wellness program can be a powerful recruitment tool for your business), implement all aspects of the plan according TO the plan, measure and evaluate the results, and make adjustments as needed—because when it comes to effective wellness programs, one size does not fit all.
