Lad Lake's Bright Lights, Big Dreams Gala

Lad Lake, based in Dousman, recently honored four of its students with scholarships during its sixth annual Bright Lights, Big Dreams Gala held at COA Restaurant at Bayshore Town Center in Glendale. The scholarships support the nonprofit organization’s mission emphasizing education, independent living, outreach and residential services. Students awarded at the gala were selected for their strong work ethic, commitment to change and focus on personal development. BizTimes Media served as a sponsor of the event.   more »

Godfrey & Kahn celebrates Earth Day

More than 40 Godfrey & Kahn employees volunteered with the Urban Ecology Center to celebrate Earth Day and bring awareness to green education and sustainable practices on Monday. Volunteers planted more than 900 woody shrubs along the Milwaukee River shore. This will help with shore stabilization, water quality, habitat and diversity.   more »

Historic Milwaukee's Envisioning the Seen

Historic Milwaukee, Inc. recently ignited an "experimental civic discussion" among 12 of Milwaukee's leaders during its third Envisioning the Seen event. The discussion, conducted on the stage of the Pabst Theater in the setting of an 18th-century salon, sought to provoke ideas about how to better Milwaukee and overcome the challenges limiting progress in the city.   more »
