What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of?
Weight training 5 days a week, 2 rugby training sessions, 3 running sessions, and a rugby match on Saturday during the season
Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?
Mental awareness, focus, and energy. Also dedication to fitness had instilled in me the ability to set forth a goal and try to achieve it.
How does personal fitness affect your work life?
I tend to weight train prior to the start of the work day and it gets the blood flowing and energy level up prior to coming to work. It also allows you to get away from distractions and really think to yourself while you are in the middle of your routine. Great stress reliever.
How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization?
Fitness and wellness leads to a better energy level and better mental focus which increase productivity
What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?
Celbrate each day that you train as a victory. Before you know it you will have a good habit formed and it will bug you if you miss a work out. Too many people are overwhelmed by looking at exercise as a long drawn out commitment and get discouraged without immediate results.
