Milwaukee-based Mandel Group Inc. recently hosted a “virtual demolition” ceremony to celebrate the start of demolition work on the former Pfister & Vogel tannery complex in downtown Milwaukee. In its place Mandel Group plans to build The North End, a development of several buildings with 88 apartments, 395 condominiums and 25,000 to 30,000 square feet of retail space. In 2009, the first residents will move in to The North End. The entire development is expected to take five to seven years to build out.
