St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield has partnered with the Storm family of Brookfield to manage the St. John’s Northwestern Golf Course.
Under the new partnership, the academy will lease its nine-hole, 3,060-yard golf course to the management team that owns and operates Brookfield Hills Golf Course and Storm’s Driving Ranges in Brookfield and Oconomowoc. The Storm Family has been in the golf business since 1952 when the late Leon Storm opened his first driving range and miniature golf on Bluemound Road in Brookfield.
St. John’s considered several options for using and preserving its golf course.
The new management team will create opportunities for the course to be used by local and regional organizations. Significant improvements to the course itself are in the planning stages, with initial plans to improve the greens and fairways.
“The St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy’s golf course is a valuable resource, not only from a green space and real estate position, but because it is a vital connection to the community,” said Jack Albert Jr., president of St. John’s. “As part of our long-term strategic view, we have been evaluating the best approach to improve and enhance this special place. We believe that we have found the right partners to help us do exactly that. The Storm family brings a positive can-do attitude to this effort and are respected players in the community. This is certainly a win-win-win for us, the community and the Storm Family.”
The Storm family will honor all existing memberships at the St. John’s Northwestern Golf Course and prices will remain the same through the end of the current season. The golf course is open to the public.
