Beideman to retire as Associated Bank's CEO

The board of directors of Associated Banc-Corp announced today that Paul Beideman has decided to retire as the chairman, director and chief executive officer of the Green Bay-based bank.
The board said it has retained a national executive search firm to conduct a search for a new CEO" to succeed Beideman.
Beideman will remain at Associated until Feb. 1, 2010, to facilitate the CEO transition.
"The board wishes to thank Mr. Beideman for his many contributions to Associated during his tenure," said William Hutchinson, lead director of the Associated board.
"I value the many relationships formed while serving as Associated’s CEO," Beideman said. "I look forward to supporting the board in this important transition."
Associated has total assets of $24 billion and approximately 300 banking offices serving about 160 communities in Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota. Associated is the second-largest Wisconsin-based bank, behind Milwaukee-based Marshall & Ilsley Corp.
