United Way of Greater Milwaukee names new board

United Way of Greater Milwaukee announced its 2009-2010 board of directors, executive committee and additional officers, who were elected at the organization's annual meeting at We Energies headquarters.
The seven new board members elected to serve three-year terms include: Richard Abelson, executive director, AFSCME District Council 48, AFL-CIO; Byron Bergren, president and chief executive officer, The Bon-Ton Stores Inc.; Linda Gorens-Levy, managing director, Stark Investments; Jon Hammes, chairman and CEO, Hammes & Company, LLC; Jeff Joerres, chairman and CEO, Manpower Inc.; David Ruiz, vice president and chief operating officer, Wisconsin District, UPS; and Greg Wesley, partner, Gonzalez, Saggio & Harlan LLP. In addition, David Gay, partner, Ernst & Young LLP, was elected to serve a one-year term.
"United Way of Greater Milwaukee has a track record of strengthening our community for 100 years. The organization's 2009 board of directors is a committed team of some of Greater Milwaukee's most talented and accomplished leaders," said Tim Sullivan, president and chief executive officer, Bucyrus International and chair of United Way of Greater Milwaukee's board of directors.
