Weldall is Waukesha's Small Business of the Year

Weldall Manufacturing Inc. is the Waukesha Chamber of Commerce 2008 Small Business of the Year.
The Waukesha-based company received the award at the chamber's awards luncheon today at Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee. The award is presented annually by the chamber and Small Business Times to a company that is demonstrating financial growth, employee growth, customer focus, effective employee relations and devoted community service.
David L. Bahl, founder of the company, which employs a diverse workforce Hmong and Latino employees, accepted the award at the luncheon today.
The other business leaders honored at the luncheon today were:
- Jeff McCulloch, co-president of Avicom Marketing Communications, Waukesha.
- Peter Kordus, president of BSI (Building Service Inc.) Milwaukee.
- Jalem Getz, president of BuySeasons Inc., New Berlin.
- Ed Chaltry, managing partner of Centare Group Ltd., Brookfield.
- Tom Savio, president of CSE (Caliendo Savio Enterprises), New Berlin.
- Peter Harken, co-founder of Harken Inc., Pewaukee.
- John Hunzinger, CEO of Hunzinger Construction Co., Inc., Brookfield.
- Tom Kaupp, owner of Image Makers Advertising Inc., Waukesha.
- Todd Molbeck, CEO of Transcendent LLC, Waukesha.
The judges also decided to give a special nonprofit award this year to the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in Waukesha. Lynn Olenik, executive director, accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
The winners will be profiled in the new print edition of Small Business Times on Friday.
