Bidding begins for Chrysler

Who do you know wants to buy a car company? DaimlerChrysler AG is, in effect, holding a corporate auction to find a buyer for its U.S.-based Chrysler Group this week, according to The Detroit News.
General Motors Corp. has a bid on the table for the Chrysler Group and remains a long-shot candidate to acquire the struggling division, the publication reproted. Although GM's offer, made in late January, was initially rejected by DaimlerChrysler, the bid is still active as other potential buyers prepare to make their own proposals this week.
