Patti Genko, who left the radio business to devote more time to her own communications company, will return to the airwaves on Nov. 13, when she becomes the co-host of the morning show at Smooth Jazz WJZI-93.3 FM.
In a 25-year career, Genko became one of Milwaukee's signature radio personalities at WKLH-96.5 FM.
In her new gig, she will work the 6 to 10 a.m. shift and spend the afternoons building her business, Patti Genko Communications, which provides voice recordings and other marketing services for corporate clients.
"They (WJZI officials) made me a great offer, and I get to listen to the music that I love. This will give me some cash flow, and I can still continue to work on my business," Genko told SBT.
"There's no doubt Patti knows how to put on a quality show. She knows how to entertain her audience, while never losing sight of what the radio station is all about … quality music delivered in a professional manner. She is an outstanding air talent and a great addition to our team," said Bill Hurwitz, vice president and general manager of WJZI.
