Potawatomi Business Development Corp. names new CEO

Milwaukee-based Potawatomi Business Development Corp. has named Tom Devine chief executive officer.

PBDC is the economic development division of the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe.

Devine has been developing successful businesses for nearly 20 years, and espouses a sustainable profitability approach. He is also skilled in executive management, federal contracting, business brokerage and corporate sales.

“Tom brings a comprehensive background with specific strengths in federal business development, revenue growth, strategic alliances and operations,” said Kevin Allis, PBDC board chair. “Tom’s experience will be especially beneficial to PBDC as we further grow our businesses and expand our work with government clients.”

Most recently, Devine served as president of federal business for Anchorage, Alaska-based MTNT, an Alaskan Native corporation. He was a U.S. Marine from 1984 to 1990 and holds an active top secret security clearance.

“Since its inception 10 years ago, the Potawatomi Business Development Corporation has become one of the most successful tribally-owned business development corporations in the country,” Devine said. “I look forward to working with the PBDC board and tribal leadership as we continue to grow and invest, not just for the benefit of the tribe, but for all of Wisconsin.”
