The move will bring 15 jobs to Waukesha.
Kalmbach acquired Discover in 2010. Kalmbach will close Discover’s offices in New York in January 2013.
Discover magazine will continue to cover a spectrum of science topics with its long-standing mix of writing, photography and compelling design. Kalmbach also publishes Astronomy, the world’s largest magazine about the science and hobby of astronomy.
Discover editor-in-chief Corey Powell will continue to lead the magazine through the office relocation. Powell and longtime executive editor Pamela Weintraub will continue to have an editorial presence in the magazine.
Kalmbach publishes 17 hobby and leisure-time magazines, related books and events, and produces more than 30 websites. The company employs nearly 275 people at its offices in Waukesha and New York.
