Obama nominates Mielke to Seaway post

  
William Mielke, president and chief executive officer of of Ruekert/Mielke in Waukesha, has been nominated by President Barack Obama to be an advisor for the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corp. (SLSDC).

“I am extremely honored to be nominated to this advisory role that will have such a large impact on our country’s future economic viability.” Mielke said.
A seasoned civil engineer, Mielke previously served as a member of the Special Committee on the Great Lakes Resources compact. Mielke intends to apply his professional experience for the SLSDC as it strives to improve both the economic and environmental development of the Great Lakes Region.
In 2011 Mielke received the national private sector Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) Award handed out by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the American Council of Engineering (ACEC).
