Milwaukee-based Hal Leonard Corp. announced that it has reached a deal with Dublin-based Waltons Music to exclusively distribute its songbooks, instructional publications and instruments.
“Irish music seems to inspire passion in people like few other genres do,” said David Jahnke, vice president of national sales for Hal Leonard. “The Waltons catalog offers quality, authenticity and variety, with something for everyone. Waltons songbooks, instruments and bundle packs are ideal for stores looking to expand their folk and world music offerings, and for the educational market. A variety of bodhrans feature authentic Celtic designs – including the internationally famous Guinness artwork. These are ideal gifts for musicians and music fans, and they look great displayed in a music room. Dealers and consumers will be very pleased with what they find from Waltons.”
Waltons was founded in 1922 by Martin Walton. Standout songbook series from Waltons include 110 Tunes; Ireland – The Songs; The Very Best Irish Songs & Ballads; and The Very Best Scottish Songs & Ballad. The company also publishes books, book/CD packs and DVDs teaching everything from accordion to uilleann pipes and everything in between, for beginners to professionals.
Waltons also manufactures instruments, including bodhrans, bones, spoons, penny whistles and more. The Waltons catalog includes more than 150 items in all.
“Hal Leonard has an outstanding operation and reputation, and we are thrilled to have them distribute our products,” said Waltons managing director Imelda Tierney. “They are perfect partners to help us spread the joy of Irish music.”
