Gov. Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett will square off in a debate tonight in Wisconsin’s gubernatorial recall race.
The hour-long debate in Milwaukee will be televised statewide at 8 p.m. and is sponsored by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. WISN-Channel 12 will broadcast the debate live and will provide an encore broadcast of the event on Saturday at noon.
The hour-long debate is being hosted by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation and is taking place at the WMVS-TV studios in Milwaukee.
The candidates will be questioned by local television news anchors as well as the debate moderator, foundation president and chief executive officer John Laabs.
Voters will go to the polls June 5.
A second debate will be held on Thursday, May 31, and will hosted by Mike Gousha from WISN-Channel 12 in partnership with the Marquette University Law School, Wispolitics.com and the WISN network of affiliates.
Meanwhile, a New York Times cover story this week gave a detailed account of how Wisconsin became the “most politically divisive place in America.”
