Pedretti said she will move to southwest Florida in September.
“Nearly a dozen years ago, I began developing a long-range plan to continue advancing my career, and moving my career and life to a warmer climate,” Pedretti said in an e-mail to BizTimes. “In September, I’ll be taking my public relations and marketing experiences to southwest Florida, where I can play golf, sail, bike and enjoy other outdoor activities year-round. My family – all located in Wisconsin – is looking forward to visiting me in Florida.”
As part of her career advancement, Pedretti said she will formally become a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives in July.
“I already have begun to make connections in southwestern Florida, including the local Rotary Clubs and chambers of commerce. There are several potential job opportunities in the works, and I hope to make a commitment late in the summer,” Pedretti said.
Peggy Troy, president and chief executive officer of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, said, "As director of public relations and marketing at Children’s for more than 11 years, she led a team that evolved to meet the changing needs of the organization. Under her leadership, we positioned Children’s as a national leader, developed and maintained strong, positive relationships with media and created communications to support our programs in clinical care, research, advocacy and education, among many other accomplishments. Julie’s influence extends well beyond Children’s. As an active volunteer in our community, Julie positively represented Children’s through her involvement with the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Press Club and many more organizations. I am deeply grateful for Julie’s professionalism and wise counsel. I hope she returns to Wisconsin regularly to visit her many friends and colleagues."
Steve Jagler, executive editor of BizTimes and past president of the Milwaukee Press Club, noted that Pedretti played a key role in the revival of the Milwaukee City Birthday Party, which in turn, helped to revive the Milwaukee Press Club.
