The city of Green Bay is launching a nationwide search for a developer to lead restoration of the old downtown Hotel Northland.
Greg Flisram, the city's economic development director, said the city would advertise in trade publications and directly approach about 20 developers known to specialize in historic hotel projects. The vacant 89-year-old building, at 304 N. Adams St., operated as a luxury hotel for 50 years being converted in the 1970s into low-income apartments.
