A new home for Animart in Beaver Dam will offer its customers more variety in a location with easy accessibility and ample parking.
“We had been looking for awhile,” said vice president Lisa Lasack, who helps run Animart’s pet division in Madison and Beaver Dam. “We needed to find the right space.”
Founders Dr. James and Ruth Metz started the business in 1982. Ruth Metz said they started out near Dos Gringos, and moved to 1113 N. Spring St. a year later.
Rather than building a new store, they recently purchased the former Dodge County Highway Shop, located just a few blocks away.
Lasack said the new store increases the square footage from 2,500 to 7,000.
