Creative agency helps Brewers win national advertising award

By Jim Butman

Creative work by the 2-Story Creative agency in Walker's Point helped the Milwaukee Brewers win the 2012 National Sports Forum ADchievement Overall Award of Excellence.

The announcement was made during the NSF awards ceremony in Oklahoma City.

The NSF Overall Award of Excellence is presented to the organization that submits the best and most effective advertising in the sports industry.

The National Sports Forum is the largest annual cross gathering of the top sports marketing, sales, promotions and event entertainment executives from throughout the broad spectrum of teams and league, including the NFL, MLB, NBA and the NHL.

The Brewers' internal creative team, along with 2-Story Creative strategized and developed the campaigns and collateral pieces that were recognized for the award.

"The Brewers are wonderful to work with. They think outside the box and the results pay off. Their attendance is on pace with any large market team and their marketing is winning awards," said Ellen Homb, owner and president of  2-Story Creative.

2-Story has been working with the Brewers for almost 20 years. What started as design work on the game program has grown into a partnership, involving television, radio and other projects for many different departments, including corporate marketing, consumer marketing, corporate communications and the Brewers Community Foundation – all of which had work chosen as finalists in their respective categories for the contest.

In addition to the NSF ADchievement Overall Award of Excellence, the Brewers were chosen as finalists in five advertising categories, including twice in the Alternative Media category.

In 2011, the Brewers received the National Sports Forum's SAMMY Award (Sales, Advertising, Marketing or Management Idea of the Year) for the "Missing You" cam.
