QuadMed to launch telehealth technology

QuadMed, a provider of employer-sponsored healthcare solutions, will deploy state-of-the-art telehealth technology across its network of worksite health care clinics through a new partnership with MDLiveCare.

MDLiveCare offers access to a national network of board-certified physicians and licensed therapists, in conjunction with QuadMed's network, providing quality healthcare services via secure video, telephone, and email communication.

Under an exclusive agreement, QuadMed will utilize MDLiveCare's telehealth technology to create a "Virtual QuadMed" approach that significantly expands the scope of its clinics, giving employees and their family members another way to access QuadMed providers and services.

"Virtual QuadMed will allow us to extend our approach to patient care to a geographically distributed workforce to increase access to preventive care, and further manage healthcare costs for our customers and their employees," said Tim Dickman, president of QuadMed, a subsidiary of Sussex-based printer Quad/Graphics Inc. "QuadMed chose MDLiveCare as our telehealth strategic partner because its technology offers the best balance of customer functionality combined with seamless integration into our electronic medical records, delivering our patients the best continuity of care in a completely secure environment."

The new service will feature high-definition video over secure systems.

The new telehealth capabilities will also allow QuadMed, which operates clinics for nationwide companies like MillerCoors, Northwestern Mutual, Briggs & Stratton Corp. and STIHL, Inc., to provide more convenient care to smaller employers and employers with a distributed workforce.
