The stock market moved upward as Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 125 points this morning and local advancers far outnumbered decliners, an improvement from Wednesday when the BizTimes Stock Index dipped 0.17 points to close at 143.14. The biggest local gainers this morning were Brady Corp. (up $1.09 to $34.08), Wisconsin Energy Corp. (up $1.04 to $52.04) and Johnson Controls Inc. (up 96 cents to $34.08). The biggest local decliners this morning were Ladish Co. (down 17 cents to $27.23) and Generac Holdings Inc. (down 16 cents to $15.05).
