UPS will be honored as Hispanic Chamber’s Corporation of the Year

The Wisconsin District Office of UPS will be honored as the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin 2009 Corporation of the Year at the HCCW's annual gala on Saturday, Jan. 23.

David Ruiz, vice president of the UPS Wisconsin District, will accept the award at the gala, which will take place at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino.

The HCCW's 2009 Hispanic-Owned Businesses of the Year will be Arteaga Construction Inc. and El Semanal de Milwaukee. Anthony Artega and Emilio Abdala will accept the awards on their organizations' behalf.

Other award recipients at the gale will include: Government Advocates Awards, State Sen. Spencer Coggs and Donna Brown of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; Bravo Award, Gilbert Llanas of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation; and the Mi Comunidad Award, O. Ricardo Pimentel, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The HCCW will celebrate "20 Unforgettable Years" at its 20th annual gala.

The keynote address will be provided by ABC News correspondent John Quiñones.

The following have been duly elected to serve three-year terms on the HCCW board of directors: Enrique Acevedo, Acevedo PC Services Inc.; Peter Kwong, Bustos Media of Wisconsin LLC; Dimas Ocampo, RC Insurance Services Inc.; and Jorge Perez, Manpower Inc.

The HCCW's executive board includes: David Aragon, chairman, SITE Personnel; David Ruiz, vice chair, UPS; Don Cohen, treasurer, Landmark Credit Union; Eric Serrano, secretary, Strategic Employee Benefit Services-a division of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
