Kaplan University has opened its first learning center, an instructional and support services site, in Milwaukee.
The center at 201 W. Wisconsin Ave. is Kaplan Higher Education's second institution in the Milwaukee metropolitan area.
The center will serve the community's need for business-focused education by introducing a blended-learning model, combining online and campus-based instruction for students seeking bachelor's and master's degrees.
The center also provides on-site support services to local Kaplan University online students, allowing for greater student flexibility, convenience and personalization.
"This center represents one of the many ways we are continually seeking to better our student experience and support our local communities' needs for an educated workforce," said Jeff Conlon, president and chief executive officer of Kaplan Higher Education. "Kaplan University Learning Centers combine proven online learning and curriculum with the added benefits and resources of a brick-and-mortar location."
The Milwaukee center is led by executive director Jerry Langfeldt.
"Opening this center in the Milwaukee area will allow us to better serve local residents looking to transition into the online education environment," Langfeldt said. "We offer a unique integration of online and in-person support that empowers students to achieve their life-long personal and professional goals."
Kaplan Higher Education serves more than 100,000 students through 70-plus campus-based schools and online operations across the United States and abroad. Kaplan Higher Education is part of Kaplan Inc., a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company.
