The BizTimes Stock Index, a weighted indicator that tracks the cumulative value of stocks of companies based in southeastern Wisconsin, rose to a 52-week high of 123.29 Tuesday, and local stocks continued to gain ground this morning.
The stock market momentum continued today, as investors absorbed a bevy of quarterly corporate reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average inched closer to the 10,100 mark this morning.
The largest gainers this morning in the BizTimes Stock Index were Rockwell Automation Inc. (up $1.28 to $43.70), Joy Global Inc. (up 97 cents to $55.91) and Bucyrus International Inc. (up 90 cents to $42.58).
However, Manpower Inc.'s stock plummeted $7.17 to trade at $53.62, as its quarterly results failed to meet analyst expectations (see story below).
