Suzanne Kelley, who has spent the past 23 years as the government affairs manager for General Electric's Midwest region, is the new president of the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce, succeeding Patti Wallner, who will retire Sept. 21.
Kelley was chosen after a Chamber committee conducted a national search, receiving nearly 50 applications for the position. The search committee interviewed four finalists before selecting Kelley.
Kelley is a lifelong resident of Waukesha County and is the daughter of an entrepreneur and small business owner. She will bring to the chamber an understanding of large and small business, as well as a wealth of strong relationships with government officials and business leaders throughout the Midwest, according to the committee.
The chamber's executive committee thanked Wallner for her service, which included taking the chamber to "new levels."
The members of the search committee included: Fred Stier, Clare O'Sheel, Mike Gryczka, Brian Nemoir, Emily Hepburn and Mike Pjevach.
Kelley will succeed Wallner as Waukesha Chamber president
