Waukesha-based biotech firm Prodesse Inc. today announced that Kevin T. Conroy has been elected to the company's board of directors.
Conroy was appointed president and chief executive officer of Marlborough, Mass.-based Exact Sciences Corp., a molecular diagnostics company, in April 2009. He served as president and CEO of Maidson-based Third Wave Technologies Inc., also a molecular diagnostics company, from December 2005 until the company's acquisition by Hologic Inc. in July 2008. Prior to joining Third Wave, Conroy served as intellectual property counsel at GE Healthcare. Conroy also served as chief operating officer of two early-stage, venture-backed technology companies in Northern California.
Prior to those positions, he was an intellectual property litigator at two Chicago law firms, McDermott Will & Emery, and Pattishall, McAuliffe, Newbury, Hilliard and Geraldson, where he was a partner.
"Kevin has a terrific reputation in the diagnostics field as a proven leader and strategic thinker," said Tom Shannon, president and CEO of Prodesse. "We are thrilled to add Kevin to our team of experienced board members and look forward to his leadership as we work diligently to continue the substantial growth being driven by Prodesse's unique products."
