To augment its growing social media business, Primum Marketing Communications has launched an in-house video department.
"Blogs, microsites and the YouTubes of the world have become great entry points for companies to explore video possibilities," said Colin Hutt, president of the downtown Milwaukee firm that works with clients in business to business, consumer, tourism and biotech/healthcare industries. "As Web-based video has become so accessible, many other marketing tactics are getting fresh life by incorporating video."
Hutt said clients are gravitating to video case studies, video blog posts, spoof videos, facility tours, documentaries and recruitment pieces. Primum also produces videos for other uses, such as flat screens in reception areas, retail spaces and trade show booths.
Primum plans to use its video services for clients' public relations efforts, including video press releases, internal communications news updates and media training.
"We're a smaller firm offering a lot of services under one roof, so we can be budget conscious and weave video into a company's PR, advertising and interactive plans," said Nicole Madison, Primum's associate creative director, who oversees the video department. "We get very creative with repurposing video to extend the brand and have a lot of impact."
