Local businesses selected for Crate & Barrel's spring catalog

By Daniel Burkwald

Reproductions of five paintings and four photos produced by Timothy Meyerring, a Milwaukee artist, will be available in the spring Crate & Barrel catalog. The store's customers will be able to purchase the artwork through the catalog, online and in stores.

Tessera Publishing, a Mequon-based maker of memory books, will have several of its books included in Crate & Barrel's spring catalog.

Meyerring, who took up painting and photography on a full time basis two years ago, said being included in the catalog will give him some of the best exposure possible.

"It was a dream come true," he said. "It was really nice and came together at a time that I really needed it."

Meyerring was introduced to buyers for Crate & Barrel through a friend's stepsister, he said. Since that introduction early this year, he's made three presentations to company officials.

"It's been a lot of work and a lot of speculation," Meyerring said. "I've invested a lot of time and money and energy into it with hopes that it would come through."

Crate & Barrel has also set aside several of Meyerring's paintings to be considered for a later catalog, Meyerring said.

Meyerring has paintings on display in several local galleries. For information, visit his web site at www.meyerring.com.
