Construction has begun on the new headquarters for SF Analytical Laboratories Inc. in New Berlin.
The new analytical testing service company plans to move to the new lab at 2345 S. 170th St. by February. The company will leave its current lab at 6125 W. National Ave. in West Allis.
"This company has only moved twice in 107 years," said SF owner and president Dave Kliber. "It has been very important for us to find exactly the right location, as well as the right partners in developing the plans for our new labs.
Kliber cited local development officials from both Milwaukee and Waukesha counties for helping him keep the company in the region.
"Everyone worked together to ensure that we were able to maintain our business here in southeastern Wisconsin. As a member of the Milwaukee 7, I believe the SF story is a perfect example of how good things can happen within the spirit of that organization for the benefit of all business in the region," Kliber said.
With the new labs, the company expects its testing capacity to double from approximately 250,000 to 500,000 tests annually. The new lab will span 14,682 square feet with room to expand to 19,407.
