Of all the other airlines out there, AirTran Holdings Inc. remains the most logical airline to acquire Oak Creek-based Midwest Air Group Inc., according to an airline industry analyst's blog. Lou Whiteman of TheDeal.com writes that airlines such as Northwest, Southwest, Frontier, SkyWest, Delta and American have fleets or service territories that are not compatible with Midwest, and they will likely steer clear of the deal. However, Whiteman says Midwest "might yet find a white knight in the form of a private equity bidder." Midwest board announced last week that it is in discussions with four interested parties, but declined to identify them.
