Earlier this year, business was so slow at the Metcalf Lumber yard in Wisconsin Rapids, that the company was considering laying off several employees. That was before a June 7 storm ripped through the area. Since the storm, contractors, roofers and others in the home remodeling market have flooded into Wisconsin Rapids to provide repairs to dozens of damaged buildings in the area.
