Engineering companies merge

By Jim Butman

Clark Dietz, Inc., a provider of transportation, civil, environmental, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, has acquired Lang Associates Inc., which has offices in Wausau and Green Bay.

Lang Associates specializes in engineering consulting and design for electrical, power, mechanical, technology, and automation systems. Lang Associates has 22 employees in it Wisconsin offices, both of which will continue to do business with their current staff and leadership under the name Lang Associates, a Division of Clark Dietz.

Randy Lang, president of Lang Associates, will remain active with Clark Dietz as vice president, focusing on business development and client relationships. Tim Falkowski and Dan Hanson will continue serving as vice presidents and office managers in Wausau and Green Bay. Falkowski will be appointed to the board of directors of Clark Dietz.

"Lang Associates was established in 1981 with the mission of providing high value engineering services to our clients. We didn't want to be known as another commodity shop for engineering services," Lang said. "Our business grew embracing values relating to professionalism, integrity, and meeting our client's and employee's needs. Over the last several years it became evident that growth and expansion of services was needed to take our company to the next level. Clark Dietz offered us this opportunity and shares our core values. I feel this acquisition provides an excellent opportunity for our company and our clients. We are looking forward to this new partnership with Clark Dietz."

"We have been looking to grow our mechanical and electrical capability by uniting with a firm that is similar in culture and values. It is important that the firm has a solid reputation in providing quality engineering services. Lang Associates is an excellent match," said Ken Nelson, president of Clark Dietz, an employee-owned company with eight regional offices throughout the Midwest, including offices in Kenosha and Spring Green.
