Hispanic Chamber to celebrate 'Echoes of Success'

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin will conduct its 17th annual banquet Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Midwest Airlines Center.

The conference celebrates the positive influence of Hispanic businesses and community development in Wisconsin. The theme for this year's conference will be "Echoes of Success."

The conference will be emceed by former Channel 6 news anchor Jill Geisler, who is now with the Poynter Institute. The invocation will be provided by Father Robert Wild, president of Marquette University.

The invited speakers include Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, state Rep. Pedro Colon, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

Former Milwaukee Police Chief Philip Arreola, now of the U.S. Department of Justice, will present the Philip Arreola Scholarship Program.

The conference will feature the Hispanic Business, Corporation & Government Advocate Awards, in addition to the CW18/My 24 Mi Comunidad Award.

The public is invited to attend the conference, which will include a silent auction and music by Sergio Poventud y Su Orquesta Veneno. Black tie is optional. For more information, contact mcameron@hccw.org
