Mester is the new voice for the county board

By Jim Butman

If the public seems to know more about what the Milwaukee County Board is doing these days, there's a reason for it. The county has hired an experienced communications professional to keep the public informed.

Harold Mester has accepted the position of public information for the county board. Mester left his position as news director of Clear Channel Milwaukee/WISN, where he had worked for five years. Mester previously was a news anchor for WTAM 1100 in Cleveland.

"Here at the board, I'm the main contact for the media, and I'm charged with raising public awareness of issues the county board is interested in," Mester said.

The board recently overrode Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker's budget veto. Mester's press releases for the county board are posted at www.milwaukeecounty.org/CountyBoardNewsRelea19568.htm.
