Openfirst Inc., a Milwaukee-based, high-volume variable imaging and print production company, has purchased six new BBH 250S inserting machines for its production plant in Fredericksburg, Va.
The new inserters from Bowe Bell + Howell Co. will help Openfirst meet its growing customer demand for direct-mail production.
The new machines are capable of inserting as many as six items into an envelope and are capable of a maximum mechanical rate of 18,000 cycles per hour. The inserters feature rotary feeders which can be interchanged with other feeders, such as shuttle feeders if needed, to accommodate Openfirst's production needs.
The company will use the machines to prepare large mailing campaigns for its client base, which includess automotive manufacturers, financial services, nonprofit organizations and utilities.
"Speed and accuracy are critical to the success of any mail campaign in the high-volume transaction output environment," said Bob Knott, business manager of Wheeling, Ill.-based Bowe Bell + Howell. "Openfirst's acquisition of these new BBH 250S inserters solidifies their commitment to helping clients exceed their mailing objectives."
Headquartered in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward, Openfirst has nearly 400 employees.
