A series of notable alumni will return to help Marquette University celebrate its 125th anniversary later this month.
The alumni will provide a series of speeches at the campus Sept. 20-27, when they talk to current students about how their Marquette education has influenced their success.
The alumni speakers will include:
- Darren Jackson, class of 1986 and executive vice president and chief financial officer of Best Buy, will speak on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Tony and Lucile Weasler Auditorium.
- Pascual Rodriguez, class of 1997 and principal of Guadalupe Community School in Milwaukee, will speak on Friday, Sept. 22, at noon in the Marquette Memorial Student Union.
- The Rev. James Flaherty S.J., class of 1978, and Stephanie Russell, class of 1983 and executive director of University Mission & Identity, will speak on Sunday, Sept. 24, 5:30 p.m. in the Union.
- Robert Horkheimer, class of 1997 and a physical therapist, Tatiana Jones, class of 2005 and a teacher at Milwaukee's Pius XI High School, and Kathryn Renee Weber, class of 1999 and an attorney in Chicago, will speak Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Union.
- Mary Ellen Bolger Stanek, class of 1978 and managing director and chief investment officer for Robert W. Baird Advisors, will speak on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the John P. Raynor S.J. Library.
The Alumni in Action speakers are hosted by Marquette's Manresa Project, which focuses on "vocation" and explores the ways Christians are called to lead faithful lives in a variety of careers and every stage of life.
