UPAF names fundraising campaign chairs

By Jim Butman

The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) announced that Lorelle Mahoney, senior vice president of human resources of Aurora Health Care, and Harry Stratton II, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Strattec Security Corp., have been named co-chairs for the 2007 UPAF Campaign.

Mahoney has been involved in Aurora Health Care's internal fundraising for UPAF for many years, and for the past two years has co-chaired Aurora's employee giving campaign.

"The quality and diversity of the performing arts in Milwaukee make our city a great place to live and work," Mahoney said. "But in order for Milwaukee to continue to thrive and attract the best and brightest talent, we all must work to assure the economic viability of our performing arts groups. It is an honor to work with Harry and the entire UPAF staff to make the campaign a success."

Mahoney serves on the board of directors and executive committee of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and has held season tickets to various UPAF Member Group performances.

Stratton also has been involved with supporting performing arts groups. He currently serves on the board for First Stage Children's Theater and is a former board member of the Bel Canto Chorus. Stratton is the current president of the Milwaukee Youth Art Center board and served as a co-chair for its Capital Campaign. Stratton has raised funds for UPAF in the past as an annual solicitor, and has also helped raise funds for United Way.

"I am excited to be working with UPAF and Laurie on the 2007 Campaign," Stratton said. "I look forward to inviting the community to support our many outstanding performing arts groups so that they can continue to enrich our lives."

UPAF has been providing operating support to many of Milwaukee's talented performing arts groups for more than 40 years.

"UPAF is fortunate to be working with such involved and dedicated community leaders," said Glen Hackmann, UPAF board chair. "Laurie and Harry will be our champions and spend many hours continuing our strong legacy and ensuring our performing arts groups are healthy for future generations."

The 2007 UPAF Campaign will begin in March and run through June. For additional information, visit www.upaf.org.
