Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is posting updates about his trade mission to China in a web log at http://www.mkedcd.org/chinablog/. Barrett reported in the blog that he visited the Shanghai province on Wednesday. "The day started with a television interview, on Dragon TV's "BizWatch" show. I talked about all the things that make Milwaukee the most livable city in America. And I had a chance to promote Harley-Davidson. Harley is working hard to penetrate the Chinese market, and I was happy to endorse that effort. We had a rewarding discussion with Mayor Sun Chao of the Xuhui district. Shanghai is broken up into 18 urban districts, each with its own municipal government. Xuhui has about 885,000 people, and some 250 foreign companies have established operations there. The district's current 10-year development plan calls for bringing together university, scientific and business resources by establishing three technology zones and building three new research parks." Barrett wrote.
