Finley to denounce delays in Zoo Interchange reconstruction

By Hector Barreto

Waukesha County Executive Dan Finley will hold a press conference on Monday, Feb. 14, when he will voice his opposition to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's decision to delay improvements in the east-west corridor connecting Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. Finley will denounce the state's plans to postpone reconstruction of the Zoo Interchange and the Interstate 94 corridor between the Zoo Interchange and the Marquette Interchange "until anywhere from 2011 to 2014." The project is slated to begin after the Marquette Interchange reconstruction is completed. Finley will protest the delays in east-west improvements in a press conference to be held at 2 p.m. at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce is encouraging business leaders who are concerned about the delays to attend the press conference.
