Teen Challenge Banquet & Auction

Its annual banquet and auction will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 at the Wisconsin Center with Duck Dynasty patriarch, Phil Robertson, as keynote speaker. This event is critical to helping TCW raise funds to help cover the costs of running the long-term residential addiction recovery program in the greater Milwaukee area and beyond. The agenda for the night is fast paced, with performances, live and silent auctions, student stories, videos and a speech by Phil Robertson, as well as photo opportunities with his family. Governor Scott Walker and First Lady Tonette Walker will also be in attendance. The silent auction begins at 3pm, and the banquet starts at 6:30pm. Additionally, a one-of-a-kind Harley motorcycle signed by dozens of celebrities (worth $65,000) will be part of a live auction. All money raised will be used to purchase property and fund the building of a local Teen Challenge resale store. These “thrift stores” are one of the organization’s largest endeavors, representing its commitment to providing recovery services to men and women who struggle with life-controlling problems, as well as giving back to the communities they operate in. The resale shops are an important training component for students, as they learn how to work and live substance-free in a safe and supervised environment.

Building an Effective Board of Directors

Event Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2014
Event Time: 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Venue: University Club
Description: Building an Effective Board of Directors

The Milwaukee Program Committee of the Chicago/Midwest TMA is pleased to host “Building an Effective Board of Directors”

Entrepreneurs are Mavericks. Many of them left their jobs in the corporate world to pursue their dreams of starting their own business. They have put their hearts and souls (and capital) into their new venture and made it successful. They are used to making their own rules, doing things their own way. The last thing they want is to have to listen to a board of directors give advice about what they should do, right? Wrong. It will take a lot of resources and expertise that they most likely don’t have. Think of a board of directors as the guardrails on the super highway to success. A quality board is there to make sure that even though the owner may scape against the rails from time to time, the owner does not ultimately leave the road and fail. This is a panel discussion featuring panelists:

William Hass, CTP, CEO, Teamwork Technologies
Jerry Jendusa, CEO of EMTEQ and Co-Founder of Stuck, LLC
Tim Keane, Manager of Golden Angels Network and an Active Director
