The event will be held Thursday May 2, 2013 from 5-9pm at Boerner Botanical Gardens, Whitnall Park at 9400 Boerner Drive, Hales Corners. Proceeds from the event, sponsored by Vision Forward Association, will benefit blind and visually impaired children. This year's event will be held at UW Credit Union's Mayfair branch at 2365 North Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa, WI, and at UW Credit Union's branch located at 3750 University Ave. in Madison (formerly Borders Bookstore). The event is free and open to the public, and is held to help members of the community safely dispose of unwanted personal documents.
Shredding services will be available at the Mayfair branch in Wauwatosa on Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Shredding services will be available at the University Ave. branch in Madison on Friday, May 17, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. People are welcome to bring up to three boxes of unneeded confidential documents to be shredded and recycled for free. Shred-it specializes in providing secure document destruction services. After material is shredded on site, it is subsequently baled and recycled.
